Elon Musk to launch his AI company-
SAN FRANCISCO: Recent business documents that emerged on Friday revealed that Elon Musk has established a new artificial intelligence corporation called X.AI, based in the state of Nevada in the United States.
As the CEO of Twitter and Tesla, Musk was listed as a director of X.AI Corporation, which was founded on March 9, as per the state’s business filing.
Interestingly, Musk had recently merged Twitter with a newly created entity called “X,” retaining the platform’s brand name but not its business operations.
This move by Musk to create a potential competitor to OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, comes despite his recent call for a pause in the development of artificial intelligence.
Reports suggest that Musk has acquired numerous high-performance computing processors and has recruited top engineering talent for an AI project at Twitter, as per an Insider report.
At the same time, Musk has implemented significant cost-cutting measures at Twitter, including staff reductions, following his acquisition of the San Francisco-based company for $44 billion last year.
Notably, the founding date of X.AI predates Musk’s participation in an open letter signed by experts advocating for a pause in AI development.
